Whatever the logic behind GE jettisoning its Baker Hughes (formerly GE Oil & Gas) assets, one thing is clear; the orders keep flowing in as the company goes from strength to strength:
Aramco Saudi project
Order by Worley on behalf of Aramco to supply gas technology equipment for the third phase of Saudi Arabia’s Master Gas System project. The award was booked in the first quarter of 2024. Baker Hughes will supply 17 pipeline centrifugal compressors driven by state-of-the-art aeroderivative gas turbines for Aramco’s project. New 4,000-km pipeline is vital to the Kingdom’s energy transition.
This order follows delivery of 18 centrifugal compressors driven by aeroderivative gas turbines for Phase 1 and 2 of the Master Gas System projects.
Cedar LNG project
Baker Hughes will supply Black & Veatch with a range of turbomachinery equipment including four electric-driven main refrigeration compressors, two electric-driven boil-off gas compressors and six centrifugal pumps for the Cedar LNG plant in Canada.
Cedar LNG will be powered by renewable electricity to make it one of the lowest carbon intensity LNG facilities in the world.
NEOM Green H2 project
In February, Baker Hughes announced delivery of the first two trains of advanced hydrogen compression solutions for the NEOM green hydrogen project in Saudi Arabia, the largest such project in the world.
Snam pipeline
To provide three NovaLT 12 gas turbine driven compressor trains for a new natural gas compressor station in Sulmona (Italy). Gas turbines offer Snam, the owner operator, the option to run on 100% natural gas or up to 10% hydrogen blends.
The station is an integral part of the Adriatic Line, a Snam pipeline project, which entails the construction of a 425 km long hydrogen-ready pipeline to allow the transportation of additional energy supplies from Azerbaijan, Africa and the Eastern Mediterranean region to northern Europe.
