Metsa Fibre, a European producer of pulp and paper products, recently had Doosan Škoda Power commission a new 270MW steam turbine generator installation at its Kemi Bioproduct Mill in Finland,
The steam turbine cogeneration power plant will help Kemi optimize its operations and processes, allowing for more efficient power generation and utilization of resources.
The Kemi Mill is scheduled to produce 1.5 million tonnes of softwood and hardwood pulp per year in addition to other bioproducts. It also will generate 2.0 TWh of renewable bioenergy per year.
Metsä Fibre’s decision to partner with Doosan Škoda Power on this project was based on Doosan’s expertise in power plant technology and commitment to sustainability. Commissioning the steam turbine at the Kemi Mill strengthens this partnership.
