NEM Energy signed an agreement with Metrostav to supply three Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs) for ČEZ Group’s new combined-cycle power plant in Mělník, Czech Republic. In addition to producing electricity, the plant will also produce district heating. The NEM HRSGs will incorporate district-heating modules that ensure a dependable heat supply to the district heating network of the cities Mělník and Prague. The site’s coal-fired units are being replaced with natural-gas-fueled technology.
To date, NEM has supplied around 1,000 units worldwide and is headquartered in Netherlands. NEM Energy offers a variety of Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG). For example, its Horizontal Natural Circulation DrumPlus 2.0 Fast Start technology eliminates gas turbine start-up holdups. The drum’s thin wall allows unrestricted ramp-up of the gas turbine. The minimized thickness is a result of the small drum diameter. A key aspect is the external location of the water-/steam-separators. This allows an optimal separator design without the limits set by the confined space in the drum. Its drum-type Fast Start technology is available for single-, double-, and triple-pressure HRSGs.
